Award-winning violist, Tiezheng Shen performs as a viola soloist in Europe, Asia, and North America. He recently made his solo debuts at Carnegie Hall and Wiener Saal Mozarteum in Salzburg as a winner of international competitions. Mr. Shen has served as a guest artist for several universities, including the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He is the founder and director of the ViolaVoice International Viola Festival held in Mexico City, one of the largest international viola festivals in Central America.
Award-winning pianist, Dr. Chia-Chun Ko has served as a teaching artist for Arizona Opera’s OperaTunity program since 2019. She is the collaborative pianist for the Helios Ensemble. As an active solo and chamber musician, Dr. Ko has performed in the United States, Mexico, and Taiwan. She was invited to participate as a guest artist for the ViolaVoice International Viola Festival in Mexico City from 2017-2019. She served as the rehearsal accompanist for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus and earned a D.M.A. degree in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona.
