Annual Report 2021
Posted: November 22, 2021
It was the generosity of our donors that sustained AFCM when no live concerts were possible last season. Concert income plummeted; donations were down by a third. We shifted spending to the production of a virtual season in order to bring a condensed season to patrons at home. While the lack of ticket revenue was offset by the absence of venue rental costs, we offered the virtual concerts for free while continuing to pay the musicians (because their livelihoods rely upon presenting organizations such as ours) creating an imbalance in our finances. These creative shifts in spending enabled us to be fiscally responsible in the face of difficult circumstances, but create the need for patrons’ generosity at the year end.
While we welcome donations at any time, we only ask you twice a year, at year-end and at the season launch. What we offer is the stability of a strong organization with deep roots and caring oversight, and a mission focused on using your donation effectively and efficiently in service of a distinctive cause that we know is important to you. Please consider a donation to the Year-End Campaign before December 31st.
