Annual Report 2018
Chamber music thrives— the best musicians and ensembles from around the globe, expanding possibilities and the best compositions of all time— we are so grateful that you are part of this.
Not all cities have a chamber music society.
We do.
Because of the volunteers and donors who support AFCM, the entire Tucson community has access to top-quality, live-on-stage chamber music. Not only does this enhance so many individuals’ lives (e.g. concertgoers, school children) but it contributes to the cultural economy of Southern Arizona, with far-reaching effect.
We are financially strong and stable, with 70 years of experience and knowledgeable Board leadership. But, as a small organization without substantial municipal funding we must every year raise a significant amount of money to ensure the continuation of our programs, and to guard against down economic downturns.
As is the case for all non-profit performing arts organizations, we use earnings on invested capital to fund operations during the season. The revenue from ticket sales covers only about half of what it costs to present a world-class chamber ensemble.
You are part of AFCM. This report is designed to keep you apprised of last season’s results and the dynamic vision for the future.
