Felix Mendelssohn
Quartet in A Minor, Op. 13
America’s most venerable quartet, now featuring longtime Tucson favorite Joseph Lin as first violinist, introduces a substantial AFCM commission by a major composer, Mario Davidovsky, alongside rich older works by two composers associated with the Juilliard Quartet for decades: Mendelssohn and Beethoven. This year marked cellist Joel Krosnick’s 42nd and final season with the quartet, and we welcome its new addition, cellist Astrid Schween, who is also an alumna and faculty member of the Juilliard School.
