At age 26, South Korean-born Australian violinist Suyeon Kang won the 2015 Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand. Perhaps you’ve never heard of that competition (it’s turning out to be a big deal), but people who have heard Suyeon Kang declare her to be a passionate chamber musician. Her first CD, coming out this year, includes music by Schubert, Bloch and Bartók.
